The price on the menu is the restaurant's own price, and they keep every penny of it. Bites Local is paid separately, by you, and we show you exactly what for.
Our promise: restaurants keep 100% of their food prices. Bites Local is funded transparently through customer platform and delivery fees, never by taking a cut of what the kitchen earns.
The big marketplace apps take up to 30% of every order before the restaurant sees a penny. That cut has to come from somewhere, so menu prices go up, portions get smaller, or the restaurant simply makes less on food it worked hard to cook.
We would rather be honest about it. We charge you a small, clearly labelled fee, and the restaurant keeps their full price. Nothing is added to the menu behind your back.
The platform fee scales with the size of your order, so smaller orders stay cheap and larger ones contribute a bit more towards running the platform. It is shown on your order before you send it.

Collection is always free. If you want your food brought to you, the delivery fee is based on how far the driver has to travel, because a five mile run is not the same job as a five minute one. Charging a flat fee either overcharges your neighbours or underpays the driver going the distance.

The majority of your delivery fee goes straight to the driver. What is left contributes to dispatch, tracking and support.
Here is a £35 order, delivered around two and a half miles, with nothing hidden.
On that order, the restaurant receives the full £35.00. On a marketplace app charging 30%, the same kitchen would see around £24.50 for exactly the same food.
Fees are shown as you will be charged them. Where VAT applies to our fees, it is included in the amount displayed.
